Why is a Service program or agreement important?
A service agreement is an important part of protecting your investment. Equipment can be costly, so you want to ensure that it will last as long as it can.
Another reason a service agreement is important is that regular maintenance will help you to avoid downtime for your equipment and maybe even your whole business. If your equipment breaks down, then you also lose labor time for the employees using that equipment, which ends up costing far more than just the price of the repair.
It is important to recognize that any equipment with moving parts will wear out over time–there’s no avoiding that. It’s very important to keep track of your maintenance work and to maintain your system on a regular schedule in order to keep you running and your business operating smoothly. A few minutes of maintenance on a regular basis will help prevent the far greater expense and loss of time if your equipment breaks down.
How do I choose the right service provider?
There are several key questions to consider when choosing a service provider. How close is the service provider? What kinds of reviews do their other clients give them? How much experience do they have? How quickly can they typically get your equipment fixed? And of course price is always important–but don’t forget to take into account what you are receiving for that price. A cheap service provider will end up costing you heavily in downtime if they can’t get you up and running quickly. If they do a poor job of repairing your machine, it might even cost you the price of purchasing new equipment long before you should need to.
